This Is Your Invitation To Join Our Mission

Back in 2020 WeFlex was born out of a need to help Jack, the little brother of our founder, Tommy. Jack is on the spectrum, and soon Tommy realised that finding a Personal Trainer that was qualified and capable supporting those with a disability was like finding a needle in a haystack.

Fast forward to 2025, our original mission is complete, connecting close to 2,000 participants with Personal Trainers across Australia with this number growing every day...

In solving this mission however, we stumbled upon a problem of even greater concern, one that affected not only those with a disability, but every single person around them.

According to research conducted by the University of New South Wales.

  • The lifespan of someone with an intellectual disability in Australia is 54 years.

  • The lifespan of someone without an intellectual disability in Australia is 80 years.

Upon learning this, we knew...

'Closing the Gap' had to be our new mission.

  • No longer did we want to accept that there was a huge chance a parent would outlive their child.

  • No longer did we want to accept that a person with a disability would have their lives cut short.

  • No longer did we want to accept that this fact was the status quo.

We had to figure out a way we could provide more assistance to our clients and to others who may not have access to Personal Training. We knew that leading a healthy lifestyle that involved not only physical fitness, but also mental resilience was a solid foundation for increasing longevity, so we tasked our research team to find a solution that was inside of our control... And we found it.

We discovered that if we could get our clients to be active for just 1 hour a day we'd close the gap by almost 30%

Unfortunately as it stood providing Personal Training we were only able to provide our clients with an hour or two a week (at best). And our clients were ones that actually had Personal Training as part of their NDIS funding... a significant portion of NDIS participants didn't even have this included.

We were well short of our mission, but weren't prepared to stop... so we stepped outside of our Personal Training niche and looked at what other services our clients were using. The biggest and most impactful being support work, commanding the majority of hours and being in the best position to become advocates for health & wellness.

Traditionally however, support work for NDIS participants tended to be overly sedentary, focusing more on safety and routine than on health and improvement.

So we decided to change it... we decided we were going to combine health & wellness with Support Work. We were going to use everything we had learned and knew about health and wellness in the NDIS space and combine that with the feedback we were constantly hearing from our current clients.

  • "I just wish my son would get off the couch and start being more active"

  • "The support worker goes through the motions, there doesn't seem to be much drive towards empowering and growing"

  • "I don't think playing Playstation every session is what I'd consider supportive"

This new model was designed to integrate health, wellness, and fitness into everyday support, transforming the standard approach into one that actively enriches the lives of participants.

Our support workers aren’t just caregivers (or babysitters). they are motivators and coaches who bring energy, activity, and empowerment into every session, ensuring that every participant can thrive. Our sessions aren't always just about being super active, instead they are about promoting health and wellness throughout the life of our participants. A session could involve:

🏖️ A swim at the beach

🥾 Going bushwalking or birdwatching

🥦 Healthy meal preparation and planning

🧘Even meditation

And the huge extra bonus of Active Support Work...

It's claimed under Core Funding!

We're not doctors... we don't treat diseases... we give people the most accessible medicine there is - health & wellness.

Help us close the gap, be part of the solution.
